Thank you very much! - February 1, 2008

Dear friends,
I just want to say a big thank you for everybody that made it to SOhO last Sunday!
We had a great night!
Full house and many. many magical moments.
We played many new songs, including some by Norma LaTuchie and Rique Pantoja.
The big surprise of the night was Luana.
My eleven year old daugther sang one of Norma's tunes with me and then decided to sit in for the whole night playing percussion.
I can't tell you what a joy it was for me to see her there on stage and also have my husband Paris in the audience with so many other dear friends.
I am also greatfull to be able to share the stage with such great musicians.
Thank you all, you are the best!
Peace,
Teka

Hi everyone! - September 12, 2006

It has been a long time.
Hope you all had a great Summer!
We just came back from a wonderful vacation in Cozumel, Mexico.
We had a great time and I came back full of energy and new projects.
Last Sunday, September 10th, I played at Soho with Ian Bernard, a great old timer arranger and pianist. He invited me to sing some jazz standards with him, Randy Tico on bass and Tom Lackner on drums.
I have to tell you that I have not sang any jazz standards since I was at Berklee.
Anyway, I had a great time and lots of compliments.
I'm so used to have my guitar in front of me that I thought I could not sing without it. I thought I was going to have a hard time having my hands just hanging there. But you know what? I felt so confortable and enjoyed myself so much that you'll be hearing of me singing jazz again very soon.

Hope I'll see ytou there - June 9, 2006

Comming up on February 25th: - January 22, 2006

Our 2nd benefit concert for The Santa Barbara Charter School featuring virtuoso violinist Gilles Apap, hailed “THE violinist of the twenty-first century” by the late Yehudi Menuhin, Gilles Apap seems to find praise wherever he turns. He is embraced worldwide for his distinct talent of incorporating styles of music as diverse as American bluegrass and Gypsy fiddling with the standards of the classical repertoire, suggesting that Apap is of the opinion that all music is created equal.
Apap will be joined by:
Chris Judge on guitar, Brendon Staton on bass,Teka on vocals and guitar and Kevin Winard on percussion.
Please check my calendar for more details.
This one is going to be a gret one and a must!
Hope to see you there!!

Trip To the East Coast - July 27, 2005

Hi evrybody!
I had a great time in Boston and New Hempshire.
I've got to visit with my sisters and some other family and see some old friends too.
I've got to play with a very good old friend and great double bass player: Jose Pienassola, flute player Fernando Brandao and drumer Renato .
The bad thing was that while in the East Coast having fun, I had a major crash in my computer and also on my PC pocket...
Guess what???
I lost a lot of my contacts and my calendar, etc..., etc...
Paris was able to recuperate a lot of my contacts but nothing from my calendar.

Please wish me luck and please learn from me:
Always do a backup on your electronic devices!
Take care,
Peace, Teka
